BRING WITH WINGS THE BUTTERFLY BIKERS!

Whereas one biker may look much the same as any other (give or take black leather jeans vs blue denim jeans!) here on our own planet Earth, in the near-limitless vastness of the Bikerverse there are innumerable variations upon that basic biker form. We've already met in this blog of mine such extraordinary examples as biker werewolves, biker vampires, and other biker monsters, as well as all manner of truly exotic-looking biker aliens - but few are more exotic than the examples making their debut today in this present gallery. For these are the Plasmopterans (named after their home planet, Plasmoptera, which translates as 'plasma-winged'), or, as they are more commonly & colloquially referred to, the Butterfly Bikers.

Butterfly Bikers are extremely tall, usually blonde, often sport a pair of cranial horns & occasionally even possess a second, auxiliary pair of arms (as seen in the picture immediately above this paragraph). Nevertheless, by far their most famous, familiar characterisic (as the images here instantly reveal), and possessed by almost all of them, is a pair of inordinately extravagant, multicoloured wings that in most cases superficially resemble those of butterflies (or, more rarely, birds). However, whereas bona fide butterfly (and bird) wings are tangible structures physically attached to the butterflies' (or birds') bodies, the wings of Butterfly Bikers are composed of plasma, the fourth state of matter, which suffuse from their bodies without any physical point of attachment, and constantly change their shape, size, colour & consistency, although those of male Butterfly Bikers are always much more dramatic in appearance than those of females.

In their densest form, these wings are sufficiently powerful to enable their biker originators to fly, but their second, much more significant function is to assist the male bikers in attracting females for mating purposes, rather like that of the famously-sumptuous plumes of male birds of paradise here on our Earth. This is an extremely important role, because there are far more male Butterfly Bikers than females, so competition for a mate between the males is very intense, with only the most spectacular individuals being likely to succeed in attracting the attention & favour of a female.

Perhaps most remarkable of all, however, is that sometimes a Butterfly Biker's plama wings will metamorphose into a completely separate, totally autonomous entity in its own right, known as a petalouda, leaving the biker wingless now, but remaining intimately associated with him thereafter as his guardian. A petalouda generally resembles a horned & curve-beaked phantasmagorical bird with enormous wings that it enfolds around its biker originator when necessary, their exceedingly potent energy protecting him from all inimical forces.

So prepare to be truly dazzled by this gallery's bedazzling selection of Butterfly Bikers & their petalouda guardians, all of whom have been created by me using the overtly surreal but always incredible image-generation abilities of Magic Studio. Also included here are a few images depicting visits to Plasmoptera by bikers from Biker Earth, and visits to Biker Earth by Butterfly Bikers from Plasmoptera, together with some images of various formidable flying monsters that regularly confront & enter into deadly combat with the Butterfly Bikers on their latter home planet.
