Painted by Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch between 1490 & 1510, 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' is a five-panel triptych, i.e. three oil-painted panels when opened, two oak panels when closed. It is an incredibly fantastical & fasinating work, as it depicts a bizarre realm populated by all manner of grotesque, freakish creatures & other eldritch entities, and it has been variously interpreted by some as representing temptation and/or the Third Day of Creation. I've always been very intrigued by this extraordinary work of art & in particular by its outlandishly weird wildlife, and it recently occurred to me how interesting it would be if Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights were reimagined as a fantasy world visited by some fellow bikers who are as intrigued by it as much as I am. They enter it by stepping directly through Bosch's triptych in much the same way as Lewis Carroll's Alice entered Looking-Glass World by stepping through a looking glass! Once inside the Garden, the bikers encounter all kinds of incredible beasts & beings, before eventually stepping back through the triptych into the real world again.
