In previous galleries I've showcased bikers riding spectacular sky whales (click here) and gazing in awe at enormous sky medusae (click here). Now we return to the theme of unexpected airborne animals encountered by bikers in various Bikerverse planets, and this time the creatures in question are flying elephants - or, to call them by their correct technical name, aerophants.
Just like Disney' Dumbo, some of these prodigious pachyderms are able to take to the air by virtue of their huge ears that act as wings, whereas others not only have extremely large ears but also sport a pair of bona fide wings. Both kinds of aerophant are native to the Bikerverse planet Volantia, where in addition to their aerial abilities they are readily distinguished from all other entities of the elephantine kind by their hide's eye-catching colour combination of amethyst-pink & sapphire-blue, but there is very considerable intraspecific & interspecific morphological variation (some individuals have sparkling, naturally-occurring jewel-encrusted skin, for example, and there are even a few two-trunked specimens on record!), which will be seen here.
As with the sky whales of Balaena, visiting Volantia to ride its high-flying aerophants is a popular pursuit among intergalactic biker tourists, as well as among this planet's own indigenous bikers (unlike the gas planet Balaena, Volantia has several terrestrial land masses populated by bikers & also a sizeable array of endemic wildlife) - as will now be seen here in the present gallery. So hold on to your hats, it's going to be a jumbo journey, in every sense!
