Here on our own planet Earth, hypnagogia is a medical term referring to the state of consciousness leading into sleep. The reverse state, i.e. the state of consciousness leading out of sleep, is referred to medically as hypnopompia. During these two states, a person may experience brief, fantastical hallucinations, incorporating both visual & auditory components.
On Biker Earth, conversely, these states are much more than hallucinatory, in every sense. For here, Hypnagogia & Hypnopompia are a pair of alternate dimensions where bikers actually travel to via astral projection or out-of-body-experiences (OBEs) during the time of short duration existing between waking & sleeping (when they journey to Hypnagogia) and sleeping & waking (when they journey to Hypnopompia).
Hypnagogia exists in perpetual dusky twilight, Hypnopompia in perpetual shady sunlight, but both are wholly rural in landscape, consisting of nothing other than country lanes & leafy woodlands. Moreover, whenever a biker visits one or other of these twin dimensions, they never encounter any other human; they are always entirely alone there - except, that is, for its shy fauna plus a host of elusive, mostly very small, supernatural sprites & other fairy-like beings, usually winged & often glowing, who peer inquisitively at their biker visitor from the safety of dense foliage & other vegetation, or, if feeling bolder, fly around the biker like a swarm of luminescent fireflies.
Moreover, in Hypnogogia these evanescent entities will even occasionally weave a sparkling hammock from gossamer or dewy grass in which the biker can recline & slumber while they alight all around him & watch him drowsing.

Biker Earth scientists have yet to formulate any tangible, tenable theories to explain not only the very existence of Hypnagogia & Hypnopompia and the nature of the fantastical beings inhabiting them but also the mechanism of astral projection or OBEs that enable Biker Earth bikers to instantaneously visit these alternate dimensions while their physical bodies remain asleep in Biker Earth. All that the scientists know for certain is that such visits are not mere hallucinations or dreams. This is because sometimes bikers return to Biker Earth & their still-sleeping bodies with small physical tokens confirming their visits to these dimensions, such as one of the latter's exotic flowers or a shimmering precious stone, and which they find beside them when they wake up on Biker Earth.
Most baffling of all, however, is that whenever a biker visits either Hypnagogia or Hypnopompia, they immediately discover that their motorbike has somehow been transported there too and is now waiting beside them, all ready for them to ride it down the deserted country lanes or through the sprite-inhabited woodlands. And once again, this is no hallucination or dream, because if. for instance, a biker should happen to ride their machine in one of these dimensions through a patch of the latter's unique glowing green mud, when they wake up back on Biker Earth they will find that the tyres of their motorbike are covered in this very same glowing green mud. All very strange indeed!
