Welcome to the fifth gallery in my LOTR/Bikers crossover series (click here, here, here & here to view the previous four). A lot has happened in Middle-Earth since those long-distant times there that were written about by Tolkien in his classic works. Nowadays, it is a popular tourist destination for humans visiting from our world, and who inevitably have greatly influenced the trends popular among their Middle-Earth equivalents. And not just this realm's resident humans either - the Light Elves of Middle-Earth have also adopted some surprising human traits, including a passion for riding motorbikes, plus a comparable passion for romantic liaisons with humankind, both those living in Middle-Earth and those visiting it from beyond! Back when elves & humans were rather more similar in outward form than they are today, there was a popular maxim for telling the two lineages apart: "If their ears are pointed, they're elves; if they're not, they're not!" But this is no longer the case - as a genetic result of the afore-mentioned liaisons, there are many humanoid entities inhabiting Middle-Earth today who have long but rounded ears, betraying their intermingled heritage, which in turn explains why some of the beings portrayed here in this gallery are by no means wholly human or wholly elvish in identity. There is of course one particularly famous precedent to this situation, in the form of none other than Lord Elrond of Rivendell, who is himself of mixed human-elf descent. Moreover, by having married Celebrian, the daughter of the radiant Lady Galadriel of Lothlorien, Elrond is also Galadriel's son-in-law. Couplings can be so complex sometimes!
Lothlorien is still as magical and enchantingly exquisite as ever (and is also a very popular pilgrimage for bikers from our world who enjoy socialising with their elvish biker buddies here). So too is the ageless Lady Galadriel herself, a tall & lissom shimmering vision of everlasting loveliness in her starry sparkling gowns, but she is often escorted in today's uncertain, troubled times when venturing beyond the charms-protected perimeter of Lothlorien by a pair of guardian biker elves resplendent in white leather gear astride their white steed-like motorbikes. There are also several companies of elvish archers in green leather attire whose keen ever-watchful eyes maintain constant surveillance, as well as an elvish equivalent of Rome's Praetorian Guard, comprising a formnidable team of daunting beefed-up 'super-elves' perpetually patrolling Lothlorien & whose incredibly imposing, threateningly pumped-up physique is normally more than sufficient in itself to deter any would-be miscreants!
To Middle-Earth purists, all of this may come as something of a surprise, as it will too, I'm sure, to learn that like many modern-day biker elves, Lady Galadriel's timeless husband, Lord Celeborn, is not amiss nowadays during periods of private relaxation to wearing the black leather biker jacket & jeans ensemble typifying these elves' human counterparts. For more official, stately occasions, conversely, he naturally reverts to more befitting attire emblematic of his noble elvish ancestry, by wearing regal forest-influenced green leather jackets or tunics & corresponding jeans or breeches with matching knee-high boots.
In this present gallery, we'll see examples of all of the above and more - human & elvish bikers, elvish archers, Celeborn & Galadriel, her guardians, and some unforgettable, dream-like views of Lothlorien, a beacon of light & lanterns amid the misty mystery of the surrounding woodlands. So be sure to check out the couple of diverse sequences of video clips included below plus the equally diverse selection of images that directly follow them:
