Welcome to the fourth gallery in my LOTR/Bikers crossover series (click here, here & here to view the first three). Within the many wondrous lands encompassed by Tolkien's mighty LOTR trilogy (and prequel) live numerous species of sentient being, but I have a particular fascination for one type of entity - or ent, to be precise Yes indeed, those awe-inspiring walking, talking, tree-like forest denizens, of great size and even greater wisdom, exemplified by their dignified albeit deciduous leader, Treebeard So I've been looking forward to creating a gallery devoted to them them for my ongoing LOTR/bikers crossover series, utilising various AI image/video-generation programs.
However, it soon became apparent that, if you'll forgive a little anthropomorphism here, these AI programs had no intention of taking or treating seriously the concept of sentient trees with arms & legs, plus the powers of speech & mobility. Try as I might, I have been wholly unable to persuade any of these programs to depict ents in an even vaguely sober manner. Instead of portraying them as would befit their appearing in a Peter Jackson LOTR movie saga, these AI 'artists' have yielded comical characters that look as if they've stepped straight out of a Dr Seuss cartoon! Or a Maurice Sendak picture book!
True, certain verbal prompts from me did suceed in persuading them to create some less zany versions but sadly the pendulum of portrayal swung too much the other way, yielding scowling, horrific Halloween-style trees of terror that bore no resemblance either in form or in behaviour to the supremely gentle, eminently pacific ents of LOTR origin. (Having said that, the actual artwork depicting these non-canonical evil ents was striking enough to deserve being used in some capacity, so I've included a few examples here under the guise of their representing a villainous breakway faction - a veritable splinter group - sorry!)
Most of this gallery's images depict bikers from our world meeting & greeting traditional Tolkien-designed ents in Middle-Earth, but to my total surprise Dream Lab generated one awesome image of some ents dressed in biker gear - leather biker jackets & jeans, no less! Needless to say, therefore, I've included it here and was inspired by it to prompt for some images depicting the ents' motorbikes, which need to be seen to be believed, so be sure to look out for them!
Anyway, commencing below with two sequences of segued video clips followed by a selection of still images, here in all of their animate, animated indignity are a gallery's worth of ents designed by AI, for your ent-ertainment (in every sense!). You can thank me later, but I'll totally understand if you don't!
